Victim demands dismissal of terror-supporting doctor

Tuesday, November 22, 2022, 12:40 Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher wrote a letter to the Ministry of Health and Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital on behalf of Eliyahu Dahan, who was seriously injured in a stabbing attack in Jerusalem approximately one month ago. Dahan is demanding that they fire the doctor, Dr. Ahmed Mahajana, who expressed support for and pampered Muhamed Abu Katish, the terrorist who carried out the attack.

Excerpts from the letter:

“At the time that my client was fighting for the chance to recuperate and rehabilitate his life, the media reported that the despicable terrorist had received support, pampering, and admiration from a specialist doctor at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. Dr. Mahajana ordered pastries from Roladin [gourmet bakery] for Abu Katish, the terrorist, against regulations and also took a ‘selfie’ with him, despite warnings from the police who were posted to guard the terrorist.”

“It is difficult to express the depth of our shock that a doctor who is entrusted with saving lives at an Israeli hospital is encouraging terror and despicable murderers whose only goal is to murder Jews. Dr. Mahajana, as a supporter of terror, poses an immediate security threat to all Jews under his care.”

Bleicher stressed that the doctor is taking advantage of his status to support terror: “My client, who is paying the high price of terror, expects that the State of Israel and its institutions will be concerned both with doing justice and with removing dangers from sensitive areas so that others will not suffer a similar fate to his. The doctor took advantage of his status to support terror. This could damage public security, either by condoning incitement or by posing a danger to the patients of the doctor himself. Therefore, I demand action to revoke the medical license of Dr. Mahajana as soon as possible and to immediately dismiss him from his work at the hospital.”

Abu Katish brutally stabbed Dahan on Sheshet HaYamim Street, near the light rail station, on Shabbat almost a month ago. Dahan was transported to Sha’arei Tzedek Hospital in very serious condition suffering from a penetration injury. The terrorist fled and was incapacitated by a policeman on a nearby soccer field after a chase.
