Thursday, January 27, 2022, 17:41 The Sandak family responded to the decision by Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit not to have the policemen who caused the death of their son, Ahuvia Sandak, z”l, stand trial:

“Every Jewish mother should know that she has abandoned her children to the violent hands of the Israel Police. This decision is a failure of the first degree in terms of morality, investigative practices and policing. Policemen from the Central Unit of the Yehuda and Shomron Police killed our son, fabricated evidence, contaminated the scene of the incident, gave mendacious testimony concerning the incident, and testimonies that contradict the evidence and eyewitness testimony. Unfortunately, it turned out that the PIU (Police Investigation Unit), the State Prosecutor, and also the Attorney General failed in their duties and prevented a genuine investigation.

Scene of the accident; Free use

“Citizens of Israel and parents of children in the State of Israel should be concerned today. They should be concerned that a youth in Israel, who could have been their son, could be killed in an encounter with a policeman, a policeman who decided that he was the policeman, the judge, and also the executioner. And all this was with the backing of the system. This is an unprecedented low in police-society relations. In a deep contrast to the values of integrity and justice in the glorious history of Israel, legitimacy was given to criminal conduct by those who are supposed to be at the forefront of the war against crime. This is an additional mark of disgrace on the PIU and the legal system. We will not be silent, and we will not stop. We will demand justice for our son and for the citizens of Israel, “until her triumph goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a torch that burns.” (Isa. 62:1)
