Sunday, December 26, 2021, 10:57 On Sunday, December 26, the Central District Court in Lod convicted Muhammad Risha of attempted murder in an act of terror and illegally entering Israel. Risha admitted to the charges against him in the indictment. Lebel, accompanied by Honenu Attorney Chayim Bleicher, who is representing her as a victim of terror, was present at the hearing. Risha, a Tul Karem resident, viciously stabbed Batya Lebel 13 times in an attack in K’far Saba, on Israeli Memorial Day in April 2020. Lebel, who was 62 years old at the time, was evacuated to Meir Hospital in K’far Saba.

Bleicher: “Today the court convicted the terrorist who carried out a cruel attack on Batya Lebel on Memorial Day, only because she was a Jew. It was important to us to expedite the terrorist’s conviction because this was a case which indicated the mercilessness of terrorists. Particularly when terror is on the rise, maximum penalties must be handed down in order to promote stiffer anti-terror laws.”

A representative of the Im Tirzu organization, which has been assisting Batya Lebel in her fight to convict the terrorist, stated: “We are pleased that justice has been served in court, but there is still a long way ahead of us. We demand the most stringent penalty. The terrorist should rot in prison until his last day on earth.”
