Wednesday, October 23, 2019, 12:22 A deliberation on the verdict in the case of the minor tortured by the GSS during the Kfar Duma trial is scheduled for Thursday, October 24 at 9:00 at the Central District Court in Lod. The judges will decide whether the minor will be convicted of belonging to a terror organization or acquitted.
Honenu Attorney Adi Keidar, who is representing the minor with Attorney Tzion Amir, stated: “Tomorrow the verdict will be handed down concerning whether or not the minor belongs to a terror organization. Claims of great importance have been made on the matter, much has been written and now we have reached the determining stage. The verdict on this charge will have substantial influence not only on the penalty, but also on the entire case, a case in which the General Security Service insisted on all of the charges, considered it a flagship case and experienced their downfall when the court invalidated the confessions extracted from defendants who had been tortured while under interrogation. Now the acquittal on this charge will effect the continuation of the proceedings and also the recovery of the defendant.”
