Eleven detainees at Sandak protest
Honenu is representing those who are insisting on the investigation of the death of Ahuvia Sandak, z”l, who was tragically killed in a police car chase on Tevet 6 5781/ December 21, 2020, and defending the many who are being detained while demonstrating for change in police behavior. Thursday, November 18, 2021, 22:39 Shortly before 21:00, a demonstration protesting the death of Ahuvia Sandak, z"l, began at Zion Square. Ahuvia's parents participated in the protest and demonstrators blocked the light rail for over half an hour. Mounted police, who entered the pedestrian mall, dispersed demonstrators. About half an hour ago, approximately 200 protesters started marching on Jaffa Street toward the entrance to Jerusalem.
Honenu is assisting 11 detainees, several of whom are minors. Honenu Attorney Daniel Shimshilashvili is at the police station providing legal counsel. A demonstration has started at the String Bridge in Jerusalem. As of now, one detainee has been reported.
