Detainee’s remand extended in graffiti “price tag” case

Thursday, November 21, 2013 16:05 On Thursday, November 21 the Petah Tikva Magistrate Court rejected the police request to extend by six days the remand of the Golani soldier’s brother detained in the current graffiti “price tag” case. His remand will be extended only until Sunday, November 24. The police suspect the two brothers of together spraying anti-Arab graffiti on buses belonging to the Afikim bus company and vandalizing a police car. The two brothers deny all charges and state that the photographs of the graffiti found on their cellular phones were taken as they passed the site while traveling by bus. On Wednesday, November 20 in accordance with the Central District Court ruling the Golani soldier was released to house arrest at 22:30 and returned to his army unit the following morning. Honenu attorney Uri Keinan, who is representing the soldier’s brother, stated today that, “My client completely denies carrying out the acts attributed to him. I expect that in the end the court will order his release.”
