Demonstrations to mark 30 days since Ahuvia Sandak’s death

Wednesday, January 20, 2021, 18:02 On Thursday, January 21, demonstrations at 100 intersections throughout Israel will mark 30 days since the death of Ahuvia Sandak, z”l. Protesters are demanding an external investigative committee to examine the circumstances of the car ramming which caused his death. Ahuvia was tragically killed in a police car chase when the car he was in with four other youths overturned when the police car collided with it from behind.


In related news, on Tuesday, January 19, four youths, three minors and one 18-year-old, were detained for hanging protest signs in Tel Aviv. The youths changed the name of Tel Aviv street signs to “Ahuvia Sandak” in protest of the youth’s tragic death.

The full text of the protest signs reads, “Ahuvia Sandak, youth, Hebrew pioneer, killed by policemen from the Central Unit of Yehuda and Shomron Police”. Honenu Attorney Amir Bracha provided legal counsel to the detainees at the Tel Aviv Police Station.
