Demonstrations protesting the death of Ahuvia, z”l, continue

Honenu is representing those who are insisting on the investigation of the death of Ahuvia Sandak, z”l, who was tragically killed in a police car chase on Tevet 6 5781/ December 21, 2020, and defending the many who are being detained while demonstrating for change in police behavior. Demonstrations took place after Shabbat Saturday, January 23, 2021, 22:53 On Saturday night, after Shabbat, demonstrations protesting the death of Ahuvia Sandak, z”l, took place throughout Israel. Locations included Eilat, Petah Tikva, Kiryat Motzkin, Shilo, Kedumim, Bat Yam and Kommemiut.

Monday, January 25, 2021, 22:01 On Monday, January 25, a fifteen year old girl suffered injuries from police brutality at a demonstration protesting the death of Ahuvia Sandak, z”l, at the String Bridge in Jerusalem. MDA and Hatzala medics treated her at the scene. Protesters reported severe police brutality. Honenu’s headquarters received reports of six detainees at the String Bridge, among them 14-year-old minors. Honenu Attorneys assisted the detainees. Other demonstrations took place in Nof Ayalon, Migdal HaEmeq, Yad Binyamin, and in other central locations, including in Yehuda and Shomron.

Tuesday, January 26, 2021, 22:05 On Tuesday, January 26 demonstrations took place at various locations throughout Israel, including Tzfat, Lachish, Yad Binyamin, Shilo, Kedumim, Bat Yam, Kiryat Arba, and Modi’in Elite.


At the String Bridge in Jerusalem, two minors, one aged 13 and the other 14, were detained. Witnesses to the detention said that the minors were detained as they stood on the sidewalk, and the reason for their detention is not clear. A Honenu Attorney assisted the detainees. In K’far Yona, a demonstration was held opposite the home of one of the detectives suspected of involvement with the death of Ahuvia, z”l. Large numbers of police forces set up barriers surrounding the street on which the detective lives and policemen prevented demonstrators from entering the area.
