Sunday, May 9, 2021, 20:32 An Arab mob rioted near the Mt. Scopus campus of Hebrew University in Jerusalem on the evening of Sunday, May 9 and injured Jews who were passing by the site. Three sustained head injuries from rocks thrown at them and three were injured by pepper spray. Additionally, several students were beaten and injured by rocks.
The victims who suffered rock injuries were evacuated to the Sha’arei Tzedek Hospital and the others were treated at the scene. Honenu also received reports that several policemen who arrived on the scene to disperse the rioters were injured.
The rioters proceeded towards Yeshivat Beit Orot, damaged several Jewish-owned cars, and attempted to torch a car owned by yeshiva students. Security guards from the yeshiva called the police and fired shots into the air to drive away the rioters.
